At last!!! After months and months of scouring the Internet and farm fields between here and Kansas we finally found our car. By the way, when I use words like "we" and "our" I most likely mean "Bob" but I like to take credit for his good work now and again. So, WE located it residing in Oklahoma City, just a few weeks before our annual trip to Tulsa for the Chili Bowl. One call to good ol' Uncle Howie (a classic car guru and resident Okie) and we knew it was a goody. On our trip north, Bob went to see the newest family member first hand and paid the fella the bargain price that Uncle Howie had negotiated. He is one smooth talker! Instead of renting a car trailer to bring the vintage ride back home with us, again, Uncle Howie came through and offered to deliver the car to Houston. One small catch, we had to wait an agonizing 10 days. So, that brings us to Thursday, January 24th. Howard left the frozen north and brought our new car home. Howard's good deeds don't end there. He came over on Saturday and rebuilt the carburetor while Bob replaced the spark plugs and wires. We took a spin around town and it ran like a champ. So, now starts our jalopy journey. We have ordered an all new interior already and are having the convertible top replaced so it will look shiny and new. I'm going to try to keep up with new photos and progress reports as we fix her up.
Oh, I forgot to mention for the car people...it is a 1967 Camaro RS. It has a 350 in it that we plan to replace with another 350. (Bob's idea)
