So, after some brief house drama, we are moving right along. I was in Wichita for a few days and Bob called and told me that one of the upstairs bedrooms had been cut down by 45ish square feet. THATS A LOT!!!! So we made some calls and everyone at the builder said, sorry but that is to plan. Because we decided to extend the one car garage into a two car the bedroom above it apparently had to be cut. I really wasn't having any of that. So we finally sat down with some people on Thursday and they went back to the architects and had them re-draw the plan to put back the bedroom the way it was supposed to be. It only took 1 major meltdown to make that happen!!

House Update
We didn't get off to a smooth start so far. They were supposed to pour the foundation Monday 3/29, we went over to check it out and meet the new sales rep that afternoon and there was no foundation. We met Christin who replaced the original sales person we were working with and she let us know that the original survey was incorrect and the forms had been set in the easment. So, they had to tear it all down and move it over 18". They were supposed to get all of it moved and pour the foundation on Monday 4/5 but for whatever reason they didn't do it then either. Finally they got it done on Thursday. Bob stopped by this morning and they actually had the first floor all framed so hopefully now that the ball is rolling, all will progress on schedule. We close on our current house on Monday, we are leasing it back from the buyers for 60 days. Here are some picutures of the progress.

New house stuff
We finalized our selections today for the new house. They should be breaking ground in the next week or two.

This is our brick and stone on another house.

Carpet, tile on the left is going in the upstairs baths

This is the master bath granite, travertine floor and shower. Shower floor and shower accent tiles are the little squares.

Kitchen Granite and backsplash

Here are the cabinets with the kitchen granite. Wood floors for the first floor except carpet in the master bedroom and tile in the master bath
Here is our lot. It goes a little farther on each side so it is pretty good sized.

5th times a charm!
Only 15 weeks and we are finally completed with our bathroom remodel. Needless to say we wont be recomending The Showroom to anyone that we like. It is amazing the lack of work-ethic some people have. We would go days between seeing anyone show up at our house to work on the bathroom. One story came out that the tile guy had gotten picked up on an arrest warrent so he wasn't able to come for a few days. I guess until his people could raise the bail or something like that. Exactly the kind of people you want to have access to a key to your home. Anyway, in the end a lot of the delay came down to the counter top. I guess the material we picked in combination with the fact that our walls aren't exactly square caused the counter top to be broken 4 times during installation. All it took was the owner of the company to show up and the 5th one went in without any problems. Oh, I guess there was some good news. They only lost Buster once. I came home from work one evening and was greated by Buster as usual. Later, I checked our messages and there was one from a lady claiming to have seen Buster almost a half mile away from the house. She said he got away just after she got the phone number off his collar. We still don't know how he got back to the house. Some nice neighbor must have brought him back. So, while it was pretty stressful and VERY dirty, it did turn out pretty nice.
